About Our Managing Director Martin Burlingame

Mr. Burlingame entered the insurance world in 2004 as a captive Farmers Insurance Group agent, before joining an aggregator in 2007. Two years later he started Commercial Insurance Group, LLC (C.I.G) as a commercial wholesale insurance operation. C.I.G grew to 40+ markets, both non-admitted and admitted, covering a broad spectrum of risks. C.I.G. developed into Bigfoot Insurance - one of the top managing general agencies in the US. Then, the company was acquired by One80 Intermediaries and became Access One80.

Burlingame is the Managing Director of Access One80 and manages the property desk but also seeks to address the huge disruptive changes taking place in the insurance industry. The company developed a proprietary agent facing portal which enables agents to quote/bind/issue as well as dialog with underwriters for submissions. With offices in Colorado, Missouri, Michigan and Macedonia (processing center), Access One80 serves over 9,500 agents across the United States. Access One80 is a member of W.S.I.A & Target Markets and Mr. Burlingame is a Lloyds coverholder.

Mr. Burlingame is a graduate of Washington & Lee University and has a M.A in Management from Webster University. He is a veteran of the United States Army with a combat tour in Somalia.
